This is the first true measuring stick of Huskers football.

HG rejects the notion that a humbled Nebraska program can take for granted “W’s.” This is not 1995, both in Nebraska and in college football. The college football minefield is littered with Stanford over USC’s, TCU beating Oklahoma, BYU thrashing “no more USC monopoly” UCLA.

But let’s tip our hats to the coaching staff and players for a hard earned and encouraging 3-0.

Now, . The true sophmore was supose to be redshirted until Frank Beamer realized after the ECU game that then QB Sean Glennon was not getting it done. You have to give Frank Beamer for  admitted a huge roster error in redshirting .

Sean Glennon now is on the bench and dual threat of will come to Lincoln in two weeks.

Make no mistakes about it, this will be a different Hokies team then the one that lost to ECU (and by the way, that loss doesn’t look that bad now).

The Rivals number #1 dual threat QB coming out of high school, Tyrod picked the Hokies over University of Florida.  Tyrod is from Hampton, Virginia, known for producing freakish atheletes like Allen Iverson and Ronald Curry.

Tyrod is 6-0 as a starter and so good that he unseated 2-year starter Sean Glennon as QB, who just led the Hokies to the 2007 ACC title.

Are you nervous yet?

Here are some quotes from ESPN’s ACC Blog:

It’s about what Tyrod Taylor can do in the absence of pass protection, experienced receivers and a go-to tailback. Taylor can scramble, can make something out of nothing and he can spread defenses out.

“Sean Glennon is a good, good quarterback,” coach Frank Beamer said. “He’s been a great quarterback for us. He’s been a great team player for us. I feel for him. I really feel for him. But Tyrod just fits where we are as a football team right now. I’m all about team. How many wins can we get? You’ve just got to put those pieces together and Tyrod right now is one of those pieces. A major piece.”

Quarterbacks coach Mike O’Cain said it would’ve been a much easier decision if Glennon would “stink it up,” but Glennon helped lead the Hokies to the 2007 ACC title and hasn’t played poorly this season. This is not sitting well with him. Nor should it. But, like O’Cain said, if they want to win, they see no alternative.
