Much deserved.

The award marked the second career Big 12 Player-of-the-Week honor for Ganz. The Palos Heights, Ill., native also earned the award following last year’s Kansas State game, when Ganz set Nebraska records for passing yards (510), passing touchdowns (7) and total offense (528).

The 95 rushing yards were a career-high for Ganz and the most by a Nebraska quarterback since Jammal Lord’s 109-yard effort against Texas A&M in 2003. Ganz was one of five Huskers to rush for at least 45 yards in Saturday’s game as NU churned out its best rushing effort against a Big 12 foe in six seasons.

Ganz guided the Nebraska offense to a season-high 610 total yards against the Wildcats and NU’s 56 points were also the most this season. Under Ganz’s leadership, Nebraska has now topped 30 points nine times in 11 games this season and 12 times in his 14 career starts. Nebraska has passed for at least 200 yards in all 14 of Ganz’s career starts and he has out-yarded the opposing quarterback in nine of 10 career Big 12 starts.
