Okay, here’s the latest edition of “As The Gator Bowl Turns..”.
Nebraska will not get an official invite until SUNDAY. The Big XII Championship needs to be played before the official invite gets sent.
Meanwhile, Gator Bowl officials are headed to Clemson’s campus in South Carolina TONIGHT, and will offer an official invite to the Clemson Tigers tomorrow.
More details from the Jacksonville Times-Union:

The sources said president Rick Catlett and selection committee chairperson Kelly Madden left for Greenville, S.C., tonight.
“You can make the logical assumption that means we’re going to invite Clemson,” one source told the Times-Union.
The invitation to Nebraska will be delayed until Sunday, because Big 12 commissioner Don Beebe will not release teams for consideration by non-BCS bowls until after the Big 12 championship game Saturday between Oklahoma and Missouri.
A source within the Gator Bowl said the delay does not affect the selection committee’s desire to invite the Cornhuskers, who are 8-4 after winning four of their last five games.
Without addressing specifics of the Gator Bowl’s Big 12 invitation, Catlett said, “We’re going to get a very good game, and eventually I think we’ll get the game we wanted. We might not be able to announce both teams before Sunday, but it’s going to be an absolutely wonderful game.”
