Despite Twenty Year Drought, Huskers Rank Second Behind Alabama for Most National Championships Since 1970

Alabama’s 26-23 overtime victory over Georgia on Monday night was the Crimson Tide’s ninth national championship since 1970.

Nebraska hasn’t won the national championship since 1997, but despite that 20 year drought, the Huskers are tied with the Miami Hurricanes for the second-most national championships since 1970. Both programs have captured five national titles.
