Nebraska bolstered their running back depth in a huge way today, as Arizona Western College running back Greg Bell announced he will be committing to the Huskers. The 6’0″, 190 pound back was named the Western States Football League Offensive Player of the Year and was also a WSFL First Team All-American selection.
Bell led Arizona Western to the NJCAA Football Championship game earlier this month, where he rushed for 123 yards and one touchdown in a 31-28 loss to top-ranked East Mississippi Community College. He rushed for 1,217 yards and 11 touchdowns in ten games this past season, averaging over six yards per carry.
Bell has two years of eligibility remaining and has a good shot to be Nebraska’s starting running back when the Huskers open the 2018 season against Akron.
