After eschewing the junior college ranks during the Mike Riley era, Scott Frost and his crew have been working the juco channels hard since being announced as Head Coach on December 3rd.

Will Honas, the No. 1 ranked juco linebacker according to Rivals, picked Nebraska over Big Ten West foes Iowa and Wisconsin.

Honas comes from Butler Community College out of Kansas. If that school rings a bell, it’s because Butler C.C. is the same school that produced 2005-2006 Huskers starting QB and Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year Zac Taylor.

Zac Taylor is currently in his first season as assistant wide receivers coach for the L.A. Rams.

After being lightly recruited out of high school, Honas racked up fantastic stats his sophomore season. Honas finished with a team-leading 96 tackles, with ten of those going for a loss, three sacks, one pass break-up, and two interceptions. One of those INTs was a pick-six.

Those stats landed him on the NJCAA First Team All-American team
